Are you an adventurous soul seeking thrilling kitesurfing experiences against stunning backdrops? Tanzania, with its mesmerizing coastline and diverse landscapes, offers a haven for kitesurfing enthusiasts.

From June to September, Zanzibar experiences the Kusi wind, which is the southeast monsoon wind. This wind blows from the south or southeast and tends to be stronger, ranging between 15 to 30 knots or more at times. The Kusi wind offers more challenging and exciting conditions, perfect for kitesurfers looking for higher speeds and more adrenaline-fueled rides.

Below are the top 10 kitesurfing spots in Tanzania, including some of our favorite beaches on Zanzibar, and some main land alternatives. Each spot has its own  unique charm and excellent conditions for an exhilarating ride.

Don't forget to bring booties, as there are sea urchins in the shallow and a thin overlay for sun protection. On an overcast day, a thin neoprene layer might be useful.
